"Are you suggesting I killed my husband?"
—Cynthia on the stand
"No, I know you killed him. You were upset that he was having sex with strangers, so you got revenge the only way you knew how. "
—Annalise in response.

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Randolph was an involuntary manslaughter case brought against Tanya Randolph after Dominic Ewing had a heart attack during sex with her and died. During the trial Tanya was revealed to be hiding a key piece of information from Annalise that caused a drastic change in tactics.

Case[]

On the first day in court, Tanya arrived stating she was in a suit three sizes too big to hide her boobs and Annalise told her to stop stressing because the jury would see her nerves as a sign of guilt. Prosecutor Morris had Gideon Holt on the stand and he testified that he had sex with Tanya that was traumatising because she held him down and choked him. The prosecutor concluded that Tanya would put her sexual desires before safety, and that was how Dominic came to pass. Annalise objected but Morris continued yelling but his words were struck from the record.

After court, Annalise asked Tanya for her list of clients and she refused because she'd lose them all and Annalise said it was between keeping her business or going to jail for being a 'negligent slut'. Tanya ended up giving over her book of clients and Annalise tasked the Keating 5 with going through it to find a witness to testify that Tanya and Dominic's sex was 'routine and not rough'. Laurel met with Sarah, Connor met with Alicia, Wes met with David, Michaela met with Byron and Asher met with Renee. They all refused to testify. Laurel suggested using a subpoena to force them to testify but Annalise said they would just sabotage the case on the stand.

Later Connor and Michaela went to a sex party that Alicia invited them to. They found out that Tanya switched cards with Alicia the night Dominic died. Annalise confronted Tanya with this and accused her of killing Dominic so she came clean. She and Dominic were in love, but he was married, so when they had sex she gave him nitroglycerin, knowing that he took Viagra and combining the two could cause a heart attack. Her intent was for his wife to find out that he was a cheater so she would leave him and Tanya could be with him instead, but he died.

The next day in court, Annalise alerted that the charges being brought before the court were incorrect. She said that the murder was intentional, premeditated first-degree murder. Both attorneys were called to the judge's bench and Annalise said she had physical proof that the victim was murdered and it was her duty to reveal it to the court. Morris countered that it was a stunt as she was upping Tanya's charges but Annalise denied this.

Following that, Cyntha Ewing took the stand. Annalise presented a new toxicology report to the court and had her read off the drugs found in Dominic's system; Viagra and nitroglycerin. Cynthia testified to knowing about the Viagra, so Annalise accused her of killing him by slipping him a nitroglycerin pill after he took the Viagra because she wanted revenge for him sleeping with strangers.

Annalise won the case but Tanya didn't approve. The D.A didn't press charges against Cynthia.
