"He kicked me in the stomach, said he'd at least make sure I'd never be able to have a baby again."
—Sharon during her testimony

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Remini is a case that Annalise Keating took on after discovering Sam's penis on Lila Stangard's phone. After his mother, Sharon Remini, suffered years and years of abuse at the hands of her husband, Anthony Remini, Ryan took matters into his own hands and shot and killed his father to prevent his mother from suffering any longer under her husband. They went to the police and the District Attorney's Office charged Ryan with murder.

Case[]

During court, Judge Colton Lee ruled that the abuse which Sharon suffered wouldn't be admissible because the only evidence the defense had was hearsay. This was a problem as Ryan's entire defense was based on the abuse. Annalise later comes up with a new plan to 'Trojan horse' the abuse into the trial through a witness. She has the Keating 5 study Ryan's blog in which the abuse was documented.

Ms. Medick testified about Ryan singing a song which happened to be on Ryan's blog which recorded stages of Sharon's abuse. This then leads the judge to allow the abuse into evidence. After that, Sharon took the stand and testified about the abuse and that Ryan was saving her but Barker made it seem like Ryan just murdered his father for no reason as Sharon wasn't in any imminent danger when Ryan killed him. Once the defense rested and the jury went into deliberation, Laurel informs a juror as to how nullification works. Annalise makes the judge aware of this and a mistrial was declared.
