Rome Trumain Flynn is a main actor on How to Get Away with Murder, who portrays the role of Gabriel Maddox.


Early LifeEdit

He was born Rome Trumain Flynn in Chicago and raised in Springfield, Illinois. Flynn is of Cuban, Irish and African American heritage.[1] Flynn has six siblings.[2] Flynn graduated from Lanphier High School in 2010. He played basketball in high school for which he received a scholarship to college. Before moving to Los Angeles, Flynn worked as a high fashion and runway model in Chicago. Flynn also sings and plays the guitar. Flynn attended Benedictine University on a basketball scholarship until he was discovered by a talent scout.[3] He developed his talent as part of his social media personality.[4]


Flynn managed to get himself on the radar of casting directors by building up his social media following. In the spring of 2014, Flynn was cast in the television movie Drumline: A New Beat, the sequel to the 2002 film Drumline. Flynn was on set filming when his daughter was born. Flynn has a daughter Kimiko (born December 12, 2014) from a prior relationship. After he landed the role on The Bold and the Beautiful, Flynn relocated his daughter and her mother Molly to Los Angeles to keep her close.[5] In May 2015, Flynn joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in the role of Zende.[6] In November 2016, Flynn announced that he had been cast in the film adaptation of Gretchen McNeil's novel TEN opposite China Anne McClain. In 2017, Flynn guest starred in episodes of the CBS crime dramas NCIS: New Orleans and MacGyver. Flynn later joined the cast of OWN's The Haves and the Have Nots.[7] On August 17, 2017, Flynn announced on social media that he had chosen to leave The Bold and the Beautiful after two years with the series.[8] Following his initial guest appearance in the Season 4 finale, "Nobody Else Is Dying" of How to Get Away with Murder, he was promoted to a series regular for Season 5.[9]
