Robert Winterbottom was a minor character on How to Get Away with Murder. He was the father of Bonnie and Julie Winterbottom, whom he sexually abused as children, as well as sold out to other men. After his younger daughter was impregnated by one of his clients, his horrific actions were brought to court, where he was sentenced to life in prison.
Biography
Early Life
When his daughter was a little girl, Bob took Bonnie to his work where she was then sexually assaulted by multiple men throughout her childhood. The raping came to an end when she became pregnant when she was around 15, however, it is unknown what actually happened to the baby after it was born but according to Bob, the baby died in childbirth. Occasionally, he would film himself abusing Bonnie. Bob was eventually caught and put on trial. The graphic videos of Bob sexually assaulting Bonnie were used in court. Years later, Bob's health deteriorated and he began having lung problems so he was moved to a low-security prison where he could be treated in the hospital wing of the prison. His condition never really improved so he remained in the ward for most of the time. One day, a janitor visited him in his hospital bed and exchanged his oxygen tank for a tank of hydrogen sulfide. Bob awoke from his nap choking on the fumes and takes the oxygen mask off of his face. Frank (the janitor) secures the mask back on his face and holds it firmly in place so that Bob inhales the toxic chemicals. Bob begs him to stop but Frank tells him that he deserves this and more for what he did to his daughter. Frank explains that the gas will liquefy his lungs from the inside out. Bob soon succumbs to the gas and dies. The nurses call his next of kin, his daughter, Bonnie who is mortified that he would list her on his next of kin for what he did to her. ("Don't Tell Annalise")
Bonnie visits the funeral home in Coalport and examines his body while it's in a casket. The funeral director asks her whats he wants to do with him and she explains that she doesn't want anything, just for him to be cremated and sent to her. ("It's About Frank")
