She was born into a non-religious background, which shocked her parents when she started dating Griffin O'Reilly, who forced her into a virginity pact. She was having an affair with Sam Keating. She was also definitely bisexual - see the season finale, where she declares that she wouldn't have flirted with "Darcy" if Rebecca hadn't been in her head all the time. At some point before her death, Sam took her to an abortion clinic in hopes of terminating the pregnancy. She however, did not want to go through with it. The argument was seen in the surveillance video, since Sam wanted her to go with the plan.
When she arrived back to her sorority, Frank murdered her by suffocating her on top of the roof and hid her body into the water tank, he did this under orders from Sam.
