Gut Suckers lawsuit was a small case that Tegan led with the students at Caplan & Gold as Annalise was out meetihg with the govenor. Gut Suckers was being sued for $100 million in punitive damages for making false claims about their diet pills.

Tegan brought in trial records for every lawsuit brought against a diet pill company. She wanted the class to look through them to find the best strategy and present it to her later. She selected Laurel to run point even though she said Michaela had more experience with civil cases. Tegan left and told the class they had until 5pm to present her a full report.
After some research, Laurel called Tegan back and showed her a Gut Suckers advert. She said that it was the ad agency's fault as they misrepresented the product so Gut Suckers wasn't liable. Tegan asked the class why Laurel was wrong and Michaela said a corperation assumes responsibility for the actions of their subcontractors. Tegan left and said she wanted better ideas the next day. Laurel got annoyed at Michaela for not telling her sooner.
The next day, Laurel presented to Tegan a case that was very similar to the one they were working on. In 1993, a class action was filed against Trim-Me, who had a very similar recipie to Gut Suckers. Laurel said that the judge ruled Trim-Me had to offer a 50% refud to every customer and in exchange the company would be protected against all claims of damages. She said all Tegan had to do was take the Trim-Me precedent to the judge because Gut Suckers would only have to pay $5 million in damages instead of $100 million. Tegan was happy and said she would take the solution to Emmett and see what he thought.
