On the Night of the Bonfire, after going to the bar, Dennis talked to Bonnie Winterbottom who was also drinking at the bar alone. While at the bar, the two watch the news about the Lila Stangard and that the police is requesting that all the men in her life give some of their DNA to be tested to see whether it would be a match for her fetus. Dennis tries to make conversation about the news report to Bonnie. Bonnie asks him whether he has secrets to hide seeing as he doesn't want the police keeping his DNA on file. He responds with that everyone does. The two then start kissing and move into the reception of the hotel. Dennis is clearly more into it than Bonnie who has other things on her mind.
