- "He's suffered enough under your care, and now you're going to fix that by admitting what you did how you raped this boy and manipulated him to the point that he stole money for your unborn child."
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Fullerton is the first case that took place after Annalise slapped her client Toby Solomon. This fact was revealed to the court which prompted Bonnie to take over the case because Annalise's license was suspended. Asher was the second chair and therefore worked closely with Bonnie on the case. Tristan Fullerton was being charge with credit card fraud after using fake credit cards to withdraw $41,000 in two months.
Case[]
Together Asher and Bonnie try and get Tristan to open up about where he spent the money he stole but he refuses to answer. Asher started shouting at him saying that he grew up around money and still couldn't spend as much as Tristan did in two months. Bonnie made Asher sit aside, and told Tristan that it was true that if he gave the money back the case would go away, but Tristan said he couldn't give it back.
Later, Asher was briefing the class and asked the rest of the Keating team to do research on teenagers and the way they think. Simon asked Bonnie if it was legal for the case to continue if Annalise was suspended. Bonnie said she was in charge of the case. Asher then asked Oliver to hack to find where Tristan was hiding the money.
He was able to access Tristan's bus pass account to find him frequently visiting a storage facility. The three go there and discover a storage unit filled with baby supplies. Tristan admits he has a 'girlfriend' and that they can't say anything because she works at the school. Bonnie puts it together that Susan Boatman, the pregnant teacher of three introduced to the defense during the beginning of the trial, sexually assaulted Tristan and became pregnant as a result.
Later Bonnie and Asher were discussing what to do. Bonnie said Susan intended to testify and her plan was to have her confess on the stand. Asher called the plan risky, but Bonnie didn't want Susan to have time to get a lawyer. The next day Bonnie called Susan to the stand and asked why Tristan would steal credit cards, and asked if his history of abuse might have played a part in it. Susan said she didn't know, so Bonnie asked if she was pregnant. The judge questioned the relevance of Bonnie's question, so she said it would become clear when Susan admitted that Tristan was her baby's father. Tristan whispered to Asher asking him to stop her. Bonnie continued to ask Susan who the father was, even after the prosecution objected, and the judge told Susan she could plead the 5th to avoid self incrimination during testimony. Bonnie continued applying pressure to Susan and she eventually took the 5th.
Later, Bonnie told Tristan that the charges against him were dropped because the D.A understood he was acting on behalf of an adult. Tristan blew up at her and Asher, calling them horrible people because Susan's baby would be born in jail and grow up with no family just like him.
